How long does an office move usually take?
It depends on the size of the office, from a few hours for a small office to a full day or more for a large relocation. The tiles above give a good guide, and we’ll confirm timing when you book. Do you move IT equipment and servers?
Yes, we’re happy to move most IT equipment and servers, as long as they’re within our safe lifting limits and not commercial-sized gear. As specialist items, they sit outside our standard Damaged Goods Guarantee, so we recommend having everything properly packaged before the day for extra peace of mind. Just remember to back up your data beforehand, we’re removalists, not IT support.
Do we need to pack our own desks and filing cabinets?
We don’t offer a packing service ourselves, but we can point you to trusted specialists, and Little Red Tubs can sort reusable tubs if you’d rather skip cardboard. All drawers and filing cabinets need to be emptied before moving day, especially the larger, heavier ones, so our team can lift and carry them safely.
How is pricing worked out for a bigger office?
For bigger moves, we can work out a fixed price once we understand the full scope, or bill hourly if that suits you better, whichever gives you more confidence going in. For a full floor or larger relocation, we’re happy to send someone out for a quick site inspection first, so your quote is accurate and there are no surprises on moving day.
Can you help with a staged move or moving into a new fit-out?
Yes. For bigger relocations we can stage the move, shifting things like archives, spare furniture or a less-used department first, and the working equipment closer to your go-live date, with short-term storage in between if you need it. Same goes for a new fit-out, tell us your timeline and we’ll build the move around it. Are there items you can't move?
Hazardous goods like chemicals, flammable liquids and gas bottles aren’t permitted in our vehicles. Pianos, pool tables, joinery and other commercial items aren’t something we move directly, but we can point you to trusted specialists. The same goes for commercial-sized gear like large photocopiers, standing printers or server racks, these need specialised movers, so we’ll help point you in the right direction.
